CH Tapferen's Blac Rose CD, CGC, HIC - "Laika"
Laika's Story
Laika was out of one of my first litters.  She was sired by Apache Hills Double Take and her mother was my foundation bitch Tulakes Nemesis die Tappfere.  She was sold as a puppy to a young woman that had previously purchased a male puppy from me.

Although she had done all the right things with her male, by the time Laika came along she was having both personal and financial difficulties.  She and her husband had a baby, and the dogs became too much to deal with.  She decided to place both dogs after breeding a litter out of Laika and selling all the puppies.  Laika was not in the best of shape due to lack of proper care and nutrition after whelping her litter.  Enter my dear friend Abbie Hanson and her husband Chuck.

Abbie called me and ask me about Laika as a show prospect and companion.  After a short conversation Abbie agreed to take Laika into her home.  Abbie never regretted her decision.  After proper care and nutrition Laika finished her AKC championship including Best of Breeds, for Abbie.  Abbie then completed Laika's Companion Dog title as well as Herding Instinct Certification.  Laika became a beloved member of Abbie and Chuck's family.

Sweet Laika passed away at the age of nine.  She is sorely missed and will never be forgotten by Abbie, Chuck, or myself.
